Born in 1938, this North Carolina original has one of the most spectacular environments you can imagine. Clyde Jones's entire yard and house, in his small mill town, is covered with his creations. Working with found objects, wood, and paint, Clyde has created what he calls the "Haw River Critter Crossing," which is populated by hundreds of chainsaw animals and paintings that cover his house from roof to front porch. Because of the prehistoric nature of his sculptures and primitive paintings, some have referred to him as the "Fred Flintstone" of folk art. Clyde's good nature and life-like artwork have made him one of the treasures of the North Carolina art scene.
